Housing Inspector - Code Enforcement

The Township of Plainsboro is seeking a qualified and motivated Housing Inspector to join
our Code Enforcement Department.

About the Role:

In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community
by enforcing the Plainsboro Housing Code. You will be responsible for conducting inspections of
rental and resale properties, responding to resident complaints, and upholding code
compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Upholding the Plainsboro Housing Code and related local ordinances through

• Conducting daily inspections of rental and resale properties.
• Responding to resident complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
• Resolving identified issues or escalating complex situations to the supervisor.
• Preparing accurate and detailed inspection reports and following up on violations.
• Maintaining required certifications and attending relevant training programs.
• Coordinating vehicle maintenance for the department (as needed).
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Department Director.

Qualifications:

• NJ Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) Inspector of Hotels and Multiple

• Valid Driver's License (required).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the public

repair/maintenance, construction, or related office work (or an equivalent combination of
education and experience).

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Salary Range: $50,678 - $78,641 annually

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
